Help Windham Rebuild after Hurricane Irene

WARF is teaming up to help Windham NY with flood relief resulting from Hurricane Irene. All donations will go directly to help Windham rebuild. You can help the Windham NY community today with a tax deductible donation.

After a thorough assessment our Board of Directors has determined that donations will go towards:

  • Residents' short term, acute needs such as clothing, shelter, and food.
  • A reserve for community businesses so that they can rebuild and recover.

Donate via PayPal below or send checks to:

*please indicate "flood relief" in the memo

Apply for Assistance

Anyone who resides in the Windham, Ashland, or Jewett school districts whose business or residence sustained damage during Irene is eligible for support from WARF. To apply, download and fill out the appropriate application form. Forward it to:

Windham Mountain Outfitters
61 State Route 296
Windham, NY 12496

Completed applications must be received by 10/24/11 to be eligible.

This aid is intended to fill the gaps for those affected after other sources of support have been accessed. Receiving support from other sources does not preclude assistance from WARF. WARF will be working with the Windham Chapter to review applications and process awards.

A caring, concerned second homeowner has generously offered to match the next $10,000 raised and encourages other second homeowners to help WARF. Help us meet this goal with your donation!

Board of Directors:

  • Lori Torgersen, Windham Resident
  • Nick Bove, Business Owner of Windham Mountain Outfitters & Higher Grounds Coffee
  • Kevin Heerdt, Second Home Owner
  • Ron Gutfleish, Second Home Owner
  • Sean Doolan, Windham Resident & Attorney
